			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Many of the clients I train for the first time generally have at least onemuscle group turned off, causing other areas of the body to compensate, which may eventually lead to injury.  For example, one muscle that many people completely shut off is the gluteus medius, a muscle situated on the outer surface of the pelvis, which if not triggered regularly can lead to lower back problems, knee problems, or groin strain.</p>
<p>Inactive lifestyles and sedentary day jobs often make inactive muscle groups even worse.  Sitting at a desk for long periods of time may lead to the dormancy of your gluteus &#8212; making your hip flexors tight and inactive.  When one group of muscles becomes tight, another group relaxes.  This is the imbalance that may cause muscle injury.</p>

<p>The movement prep routine you develop with <a href="http://columbiafitness.wordpress.com/about-2/">Columbia Fitness </a>will help active the muscles you have ignored.  Each session, we begin by triggering those often-sedentary muscle groups. Awakening these key muscles prior to the workout contributes to a more effective overall training session and helps to prevent injury.</p>
